If I understand correctly the wic recipient pitched a fit in order to force the cashier to let her buy special k with berries right? Well if that's the case then hell yes she should be reported to wic. WIC checks are only for certain things.

It is not allowed...I do not know how the cashier was able to get WIC to pay for it. Usually, WIC is programmed in the registers and will not allow the woman to ring it up and get the cereal paid for by WIC! It is sad that there are people out there abusing the system!!! Yeah...I would report it!!! And, the cashier probably just gave the cereal to the woman!

no she was not supposed to you should report the store to WIC so that they can better educate the cashiers. Only certain cerals are allowed and they are usually high in vitamis and low in sugar. in my opinion special k with beries should be on there but that is another story. Sad to say if you call wic they might not do anything though

That's definitely a cereal that is not allowed. You should probably report it if you see it again. The customer is given a list of appropriate cereals and they have to follow those guidelines. If they throw a fit, then call a manager. Rules are rules and they need to follow them!

You don't have to worry about reporting it because her management team will soon be on her because they will be losing out on money because of her carelessness! Trust me it happened at my work with one of our cashiers that was just to lazy to look at the do and don't of wic puchases that is given to the cashier!

They called it Aid to the Needy Children when I was a kid and my mom was embarrassed to receive it, but we had no choice. They also dictated what food and things we could or could not have, but it seemed it was never enough. I remember having to choke down powdered milk and eggs. Today, it's WIC who dictates no Special K with Berries. When are going to learn the only way to break this vicious cycle of poverty begetting poverty is by providing a substantial hand (say $40K per year if the father stays) to the family, i.e., mother and father and children.

not allowed, but i don;t know if i would report the lady, definitely could report the store. I know my fiance came home with chunky peanut butter one time, and i let him know that he couldn;t buy that. His was an honest mistake though.

Umm, what is the big deal.. it's cereal.
Why would you go and ruin someone's life over cereal? You mean to tell me that you NEVER get a craving for something?
I mean, honestly people, is this is what society has come to.. ratting people out for breakfast foods?
