the mantra of the times: the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. also, it is easier to get away with killing foreigners than your own, so they get away with it under 'war crimes'.
you know, in war everyone commits crimes of murder, so why is it that only the losers get tried and hanged for it? the winners inevitably have killed and destroyed more than the losers, so are more guilty.
PS: Tattoo (above). what are you talking about? are you saying that the Yanks saved the west from the Nazis and Russians?? what a load of rubbish. you guys were drinking beer and relaxing while the rest were at war. the russians helped damage the Germans from the north, so they helped too. the yanks just didnt want the russians to take over the wrecked europeans countries that the germans were now evicted from. the americans may have saved the pacific but forget their input in the main euro battle.
. typical though, turn up at the end for the party after the hard work is finished. too many movies have rewritten your version of events.

Isn't it sad when you're not allowed to have your own opinion, or have to be told what to think by someone else, when you live in the UK?
Saddam Hussein wasn't hung for the oil, it wouldn't've made any difference if he got life imprisonment. Saddam Hussein was hung because he was a symbol, because his (show) trial showed the beacon of 'democratic' justice in Iraq, because the United States and its Allies had to show they were doing 'something' positive (because what else has been positive?), and because some idiots in Washington honestly believed that getting rid of Saddam Hussein would have lessened the will and strength of the insurgency.
Depending on the varying figures as to how many Iraqis have died since March 2003 - anything from 50,000+ to 650,000+ - more Iraqis have died since March 2003 than in the whole of Saddam Hussein's dictatorship (estimated 300,000 - 400,000), it's entirely possible that America and its allies are responsible for more deaths than Saddam Hussein was..

Oh yeah.......that was why he was really hung. If it was about the Oil then the Americans would have stepped in and tried him at the Hague for War crimes.
He was hung by an Iraqi court. Get your facts straight. He was hung for Mass genocide, murder as were his accomplices. If you dont know what you are talking about then keep your mouth shut.
British or not, that is the most idiotic thing i have ever heard.

Saddam was a sadistic psychopathic bastard who deserved a death lasting hours. He was hung not for oil but his actions. There are some people who do not and cannot contribute to any society and whose execution is really the only a financial saving in lieu of keeping them in prison.

Lets get things straight. The Iraqi goverment hung Sadaam but our government dished him up for their pleasure. Many of us Americans are embarassed by our President and we did not vote for him. He started this war and now it will go on for years. Just so that he could show off and outshine his fathers legacy.
Saddam was not a good man. He ruled with an Iron fist. But now we are finding out that this is the only thing the Iraqis understand, violence and murder. Saddam kept his country in line by power. No one else in that government has that same power. He killed to make a point. Now I am not saying this is correct for American or the decocratic nations but it worked for Iraq.
Ok, the Iraqis hanged him. They want him gone so that they can use their government as a political pawn. They are all in there working for their own private causes not for the best interest of Iraq. One for oil, one for money, one for power, one for the Saudis and so forth. Their government is a mess and they are pilaging billions of American dollars from us.
You are British and I am sure you are not pleased with Blair the same as the majority right now (70%) are not pleased with Bush and his performance with this war. Lets work together to end this thing and move on.
The Americans and British are friends and we never want to ruin that. Lets think peace not war.

Well obviously showing your lack of education. During Saddam's rule there were hundreds of thousands Kurds, Shiites, killed. Entire villages of Kurds were summarily mascaraed using chemical weapons (sarin, mustard gas) to quell the Kurdish rebellion. In the south Hundreds of thousands of Shiites that tried to rebel against him were executed in mass graves. Many were buried alive, or put before a firing line. He tried to invade Iran for it's oil fields, killing millions of Iranians. Since his overthrow there have been multiple mass graves found. He also invaded Kuwait for their oil fields. His army committed atrocities in that country as well. So his conviction was justified, and his execution also justified.

It wasn't the British who hung Saddam, it was the Iraqi Governement. I believe he was hung for war crimes against the Kurds and various other crimes, not because of his oil.

Not for the oil.
Just the betrayal of Judas one of the dirty dozen who sold the poor old man for 30 pieces of silver and it has to be done quickly before anyone else notice it in planet of apes.
Along the way blunders and slip-ups expose itself with time in making a monkey out of themselves in planet of apes.
Ever wonder who will rise on the third day after the crucifixion for making a mess and monkey out of themselves in planet of apes.
The dirty old man was right with "The wrong man"
Ever wonder who get kick on the butts by the three monkeys with see no evil, say no evil and hear no evil in making a mess and monkey out of living human kind in planet of apes?

Saddam's rightfully burning in Hell. The IRAQI'S tried, sentenced him fairly and hung his murderous carcass for hideous crimes against humanity. He was an evil, sadistic, merciless greedy dictator like Hitler and Stalin!
Is being British your excuse for your thinking?

We did not hang him. And those who did, did so for the crimes he committed. Had we done the trial, he would have sat on death row until my kids are in college filing appeal after appeal.
You're British, well you can join the French in thanking us for the fact that people in your country do not speak German or Russian.
