Just set days that you will dedicate to keeping your room clean. Like for instance on mondays and fridays you can make a aggrement with yourself that you will clean your room, and stick to that regiment. Never cram stuff into hidden areas of your room either, that will just make it harder and more diffucult and time consuming to clean your room in the long run. Decide right then whether you are going to throw it away, or store it. I said store it not cram it somewhere. Making decision right then and there where stuff will go is a major step in keeping your room clean... I hope that helped..:)

Everything in your room should have it's place, and when you are finished using something, you should put it back in it's place immediately. You can make or buy stylish containers to store your stuff. The nice thing about containers is that they look nice and hide clutter, too. Stores like Target have inexpensive and cute storage containers for magazines, school/desk supplies, and books. Some of them come in sets so they are color-coordinated. You can use baskets in your closet for sweaters, socks, bags -- anything that doesn't fit in your drawers and wouldn't stay put on a shelf by itself in the open. A storage chest is also a good idea because you can often use one for extra seating as well. You can often make storage containers inexpensively by decorating boxes you might have leftover or by redoing stuff you find at garage sales, flea markets, or even your own attic! The HGTV website is a great resource; shows like Design on a Dime show you how to make your own versions of expensive designer stuff. Mission Organization is also a show they once had that showed you how to sort through your things and organize it effectively and stylishly. If your room looks nice, you're more likely to keep it clean. Just be creative. And once you do your major room cleaning, just remember to put stuff away immediately, make your bed, and spend 20 minutes a few days a week doing something like dusting or vacuuming. That way your room doesn't get very dirty again.

Get rid of the excess clutter. If a thing is broken, throw it out.
Have a place for everything, and keep everything in its place.
When you get up in the morning, make your bed right away. That way you won't forget.
Now, in my house I used to have a HUGE problem with clutter on assorted display shelves. Until I went out and bought a nice book shelf and set it up. That helped a huge ammount, and dusting is no longer so- scary!
I hope this helps!

The mess asks for reorganization of your room, not for more time spent cleaning. Can you organize your closet better? Do you need boxes for storage, maybe an extra shelves? Your mess helps you to see what you need to organize most. After you are organized, it is easy to put everything back in the right place=no mess. Good luck!

Make the bed correctly and half the room is clean. Take a garbage pail and shove everything on top your dresser into it. The dresser and any furniture with a top surface shouldn't have more than three things on it.
Make sure there is nothing on the floor except the carpet.

I have the same problem, My mom told me to buy a hamper for my clothes so they wouldn't be all over the floor. Another thing you can do is once you get something out put it right back after your done using it , I know its hard to do but that's the only thing I can think of . Good question tho.

It's tough. You just can't let things build up. The best solution would be to clean it once a day, it'll only take 5 minutes, and you'll never have to spend a whole day cleaning it again.

Think to yourself how your room reflects who you are in relation to your friends. Do you really want your friends to know you're a slob?
