and everytime I take the test I fail it. I have to get a GED to get a decent job and I think I'd like to go to school. Any ideas on how to pass the test?

If you keep saying to yourself you are not smart then you will NEVER pass the test. Not everyone who is smart always pass the test - so you are no different. Don't quit. Being intelligence in itself will not make you pass the test. Lots of people are highly intelligent but if they don't study for a test or know the subjects then they will never pass.

Believe in yourself. Study hard and take the test until you pass.

Go in with a winning attitude. Majority of achievers in this world - in whatever field they are - have failed many times. The difference is that they do not quit.

Have a good study plan and good study habits so at test time, you can go in well prepared and alert.

The point here is that there are opportunities available EVERYWHERE for FREE where you can sit down and go to attend classes with a LIVE TEACHER/Aide in the Classroom to be able to get tutored and have refreshers and every bit of help you need (and can test and retest) until you pass the GED.

These opportunities include the Local Public Library, Afternoon/Evening Classes at the Local High School, the Local Community College (Morning, Afternoon, Evening).

ALL of these sites have available various FREE pre-testing options too -- all you have to do is DEDICATE the TIME to SIT DOWN and take them .. they will show you what you need to work on (and provide you with a SUMMARY!) of all the on-line and other courses you will need to take in ORDER TO PASS the GED!

Now another beauty of this in my state is that one can take the subject tests separately -- and this also takes off the pressure of sitting for a complete test.

IF you felt like putting forth effort .. you would have done so at this point in time. I have READ your other postings ... and yes, it SHOCKS me that a female would victimize others, make threats, and then make excuses (OVER the Adult Age no less, and with a child of her own) for NOT making her way in life. ALL IT TAKES is to get up and GET MOVING!!!!

The whole point here is to NOT sit and make up 'excuses' (like I am not smart ... I am looking for someone rich to marry and I'll stay home ... any excuse at looking to others to DO for YOU what you can do for YOURSELF), but to GET UP, GET MOVING ... and GO to the Sites/Classes/Areas and TAKE ADVANTAGE of the FREE OPPORTUNITIES!

Relax....you are smart and you can pass the test. Study for the test...slowly. Study in 30 minute intervals until you feel like you are ready.

Dont let the test scare you. Answer the questions you know first, then go back to the ones you weren't sure about

~There are GED study books, tutors, and the internet.
~Study some every day.
~When I need to memorize something I write it on a piece of paper and carry it around with me and keep pulling it out and looking at it all day.
~Maybe find some other people in your area needing to study and study with them.
~Have a positive attitude about it. Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right.

I come on here some nights just to see if you've been on answers. I wonder if any of these people who have answered have bothered to read your other posts. You probably will never pass the GED if you don't stop being mean to other people. Karma is a d@mned thing.

Try to go to night school if you have to work during the day.

Also, there are books and online references to help you study for the GED. It sounds like you're not very confident though, and that's probably one of your biggest obstacles.

First and foremost you need to have CONFIDENCE. and your very first two statements indicate that you have no confidence in yourself.

You can do this if you set your mind to it. Just study, study, study and BELIEVE you will pass and you will.

Study the things you struggle with over and over until you memorize them. Make up little things in your mind to help you remember certain things.

The best example I can give you is this ...a friend of mine once needed to remember these streets in order: Glendale, Northern, Dunlap, Peoria, Cactus, Thunderbird.

He couldnt remember them in proper order for anything ....so he took the first letter of each road (G, N, D, P, C, T) and made a saying out of .... and it went like this .... Gosh, No Darn Pigs Can Talk ..... and that was 15 years ago ...and now we all remember those roads in order because of this stupid saying.

Best of luck. Nothing worth achieving is easy ... so study hard, have confidence, and post again in a few weeks AFTER YOU HAVE PASSED !!!

You need to stop telling yourself you aren't smart. It sounds like you aren't studying enough. Hit the books, work hard and get over the attitude. Good luck.
