We stalk each other. I will crouch down behind the couch or behind a door and peep at him occasionally. He does the same until one of us attacks. I chase him around the house and then run away and he chases me. He jumps at me as I try to get away.
The coolest thing he does is keep a tiny toy mouse in his food bowl. if I take it out and throw it in the other room, he runs in and plays with it until he thinks I am not watching then he picks it up and puts it back in his bowl....Hillarious.

Hi. One cat loves 2 b chased, caught, picked up, hugged & hugs back (or [as my sister said] is holding on for dear life...can't tell which). She'll chase & hug anything w/ catnip. She also loves 2 play "Hide & Seek".
The other cat loves 2 play with long pieces of bread tie types; so, he has the continuous ones that were cut long enough so he can't swallow them. Sometimes he cutely fetches them. By the way, I try to toss him a toy or start to run toward him. His looks says, "...& u want me 2 do what???? Yo, I'm 2 cool 4 that!" (Smile.)

we play: get the rope, get the string; get the feather boa; chase the kitty; spin the kitty (only for a short while, i'm not mean to her), get the mousies (toy mice stuffed with catnip), snatch the ponytailer, attack the paper bag, run around the house and go crazy at 2 in the morning being sure to tromp my humans atleast once and jar them from a sound sleep, and stuff like that
kitty also likes her lap time...she seriously likes lap time with the newspaper over her...

Mine love tail ticklers, (feathers on a rod). Things like a hand moving under a thick blanket can be fun or balls to roll and catch are great. Some cats prefer active toys that they can chase rather than things just laid on the floor so you need to experiment with her tastes.

Have you tried Hide and seek? It's sooo much fun! My cats just love it!! Also, run around with a long piece of string or cat toy..they get good exercise, so do you!

My cat likes to play balls, strings, ribbons, straws and hide & seek. Usually he would play in morning and midnight. Just throw the ball & he would start to chase it. Sometimes, he would use his front paws to roll the ball. After he reaches his toy, he would sit by the toy and wait for me to throw it again. The game continues until he tired.
For straws, string & ribbons, just move them to and fro in front of him and he would try to snatch them from you. However, for mine, I need to let him win sometimes or he would be angry & stop playing with me!
For hide and seek, he would hide himself under table, behide chairs or in his cardboard, and you would pretend not to see him and looking for him by calling out his name. Then, you would spot him and jump on him, and he would run out of his hiding place and hide at another place. Sometime he prefer the other way round, meaning you hide, he hunts!
These are some of the ways I play with my sonny. Hope it will help you.

i have a laser pointer. i think everyone who has a playful kitty should have one. they are so much fun. not only have i managed to get my 2 cats to literally climb the walls trying to catch this light but i have also "encouraged one of them to smack my son! He was playing a video game against his dad and talking a lot of junk so i put the light on the back of his head and as expected my cat reached up and swatted him (she is declawed so he couldn't get hurt)
