Do the child, your father and your step mother a favor-- stay away. You have nothing in common with this child. You are mean, selfish and evil. You have nothing to offer this child.

What you have in common is that you're FAMILY!! I have a brother (half) that is 24 years younger than I. We live 500 miles away and we love each other and would be close if the situation were different. His mother is very jealous of everyone on my side of the family and she has given me a hard way to go for years and years and years. I've not had any contact with them since I lost my daddy 4 years ago because I can't stand the stress of having her around me. But you have a wonderful chance to be a good role model for your little sister. I hope it will work out for you.

Truly, nothing except a parent! (oops and love for one another because you are family!) My kids are true siblings, and their age difference is only six years, however they have absolutely nothing in common except me. Not even the same dad, just me! However, there is nothing they won't do for each other when the going gets tough! I can say, because you are the older more responsible and mature one, you should try to set aside a little time for your little sister to watch a movie, or let her dress you up in make up. That is what all six year olds want to do! It will make her love you so much more, and she will always remember those times, and want to be with you.
And that, my friend, will make your common parent very, very happy (and respectful) with you!

you look at yourself as a cool girl and your sister looks at you as a cool girl, too. You like this guy and you think he is cute, and your little sister thinks he is cute, too. You both chew gum and like candy... your sister knows you share the same blood as her, you only know that you share the same parent. She looks funny, you too, when you are silly. you can show her everything you know, wait till you turn 34 years old she will be 20 and you both can go out together...

Do things with her like roller skating, taking her shopping, go to Build A Bear Workshop and make sister bears and then go out for lunch...make a day of it. You're both girls you just have to think back to when you were little and all of the things you loved to do and try to re-create those for your sister. Good luck and have fun!!!!

A parent who loves you both. IF not now you have someone who looks up to you and someday may try to be like you if you are good to her. Someone who will believe you are the next best thing to mom. Little sister's are a great person to have on your side if you do it right. She will love you unconditionally when you think everyone else is against you. No bribes needed. Just your time and love. I know it's sound mushy but it's true. So, do it right.

Sounds like you're the 6 year old, and she's probably more mature than you ... think about... you could have lots in common unless you hold some kind of grudge against one your parents!

LOVE, mom and/or dad. Each other just knowing that you have someone who will be looking up to you when they get older so you have to be a good role model for her and set a good example. YOu also can be a kid at heart all over again you are never too old be a kid, take her to fun places and show her a good time she will love this and look up to you even more.
