The difference in loads on the amp will determine the output power and level of distortion. The lower the ohms the more power but the more THD (total Harmonic Distortion) is produced.

Just because an amp is 2 ohm stable doesn't mean it's best to load it at that.

The less ohm load you have, the more power to the speaker. But your amp has to be capable of going down to a lower ohm or else the higher current could fry the amp.

what everyone else said. but if you have a 2 ohm woofer, and your feeding it 8 ohms, the bass wont sound right. even if its getting the right RMS. subs and amps should be wired to the same ohm.
