C is the answer.

Technically, none of the above apply.

Marijuana does not remain in your system - the chemicals do. THC is the major component of weed and it is fat soluble. This means that it can be stored in the fatty tissue of organs and what not. Although scientists are unsure, this COULD mean that the THC stays in your body virtually forever.

Of course, even if it did, it could not be DETECTED. How soon after THC can be detected is determined by many factors (e.g. How much weed was consumed.) Generally, however, in frequent users THC can be detected via a blood test for up to 8 hours. 9-carboxy-THC can be detected via a blood test after 2 or more weeks. If a urine test is used on a frequent user, the 9-carboxy-THC would be detectable for up to a month.

On infrequent users, the numbers are much lower. Via a blood test, THC is detectable up to 4 hours and the 9-carboxy-THC for up to 3 days. A urine test will determine 9-carboxy-THC in an infrequent user for up to 10 days.

So, whereas none of those answers are technically correct, c is the most correct.

:)

Edit:

For the record 9-carboxy-THC is the product of your body starting to metabolize THC.

The real answer is e. for ever. A simple CAT or MRI scan will show the neuron damage to the brain and quite accurately determine the usage pattern of the person. Urn tests may pass some people in a matter of a couple of days, where as, hair follicles can detect usage up to and even beyond 18 mos. Recently, I had the misfortune to turn down a prospective young graduate chemist from a starting position of $80K a year because he failed the hair test.

Delta9 THC can remain in your body for indeterminable lengths of time. The cannabinol is fat soluble. The good faith response is "a month...maybe 4 months." Truthfully, the body will store THC in layered fat cells. [If you've ever seen an archaeological dig then you've probably noticed how rock tends to form in layers.] The metabolizing process is exclusive by description. The human body can continue to secrete the THC molecule into the arterial bloodstream for days and weeks. Also, the capillarial bloodstream will retake the molecule, as well as, take inappropriate element secretions for a non-determineable length of time. Again, the metabolizing process is exclusive for each person. My hair turned pink from it.

Why ask the question? Are you quilty of something? If you NEED to know, it can last in your system for over a month (depending on your bodies tollerance). How do I know? I had to do a research paper on drug addiction for my psychology class. Hope you don't have a job interview or tryout for a sports team any time soon.

Define "system."

Marijuana can be detected in the urine through metabolites up to a month after consumption.

Marijuana can be detected in the hair (although this test is rarely conducted due to the high cost) essentially until it is cut off...which for girls can be a verrrrry long time.

10 days for chronic users, and 3-4 days for infrequent users.

at least for urine tests. it also stays in your hair and body fat, and traces can be detected for a looooooooooong time. (but unless you rapidly lose weight, or they ask for a hair sample, it won't show).

technically, there will be traces of it left forever an ever...since this sounds like a theory question, i'd say C
