If you have dizziness (like the room is spinning around you), it could be lots of things including an inner ear infection, a common condition called benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), meniere's disease (accompanied by ringing in the ears and progressive hearing loss), drug induced, post-traumatic (if you recently hit your head or something) or some other cause.
If you are not truly dizzy but lightheaded (feel as if you might pass out), you might be suffering due to other causes such as low blood pressure.
If it is truly dizziness you are experiencing, read about BPPV and see if it matches your symptoms, as this is an extremely common cause of vertigo.

I can only relate my own experience with you. I didn't realize it at the time I was having dizzy spells, but what I eventually realized, was anxiety. It go SO much worse before I got a physician to recognize it as it was and prescribed a medication that helped. It may not be the same, but I think you should check it out. I hope it isn't anxiety, people don't seem to think it's real. Good luck.

If you never had any ear infection, or blood pressure and other heart problems, so you need more fresh air and consequently OXYGEN.
Once I was at a course and my stomach was grumbling from hunger. It was silence, and I began to contract my abdominal muscles and hold my breathing, so that the others don't hear my stomach grumble. The next day, I felt so dizzy, it was for the first and last time. I had soon realised the cause of my dizziness: I had held my breathing, therfore my equilibrium centers in the brain had failed to assure their function, as brain cells are very sensitive to the lack of oxygen.

at last count there are too many to count!
The details make all the difference, and "dizzy" can be broken into "lightheaded" or "vertigo" as a start.

The Mitral valve in your heart isn't supplying enough oxygen. Do you especially notice it when you are tired, have the flu or run down?
