reply to an answer- im not a hero. im just pointing out that yes!! we are making kids question themselves so much. but im a kid myself and i never understand the attention seeking nature of youth today. im not an obese, and i myself, was anorexic at a time but it was never an issue of attention but it was just after i lost 3 loved family members and i was feeling dead inside. that was the deal. but i see that, here, its all about attention. and im not an obesity lover, but nor am i an anorexia supporter. you yuourself, is judging me- the thing you blame me for doing so. does that make you a hero? no. dont think so.

and comfort is what we all seek. but that is not sth we can find outside. we CREATE comfort. we form good friendships, we create a good image about ourselves, we believe in ourselves. and that is what comfort is all about. you can not seek comfort in some strangers' words...

Its actually not their faults. I'm insecure about how I look, I'm 5 foot tall and 120 pounds, but I'm a muscle. But because I'm not like all the models, or the Paris Hilton's. I mean, if Marilyn Monroe were still alive and as beautiful and almost flawless as she was, people would call HER fat. UN believe able. Weather you choose to listen to me, the truth is we are making the youth of America question themselves so much. People like you. People who call them attention seekers when all they want is comfort and some confidence. Good goin, nice job. Your a real hero of society, you and the rest of the obesity of America.

That is the only way some people know how to get compliments. No one is going to compliment them because they are disgustingly skinny. They have to hear that they are skinny every once in a while, so they just ask and know that you CANT say that they are fat and be truthfull. I think they are doing just fine. (maybe a little on the light side or dumb whatever)

Homosexual men run the fashion industry and over 90% of homosexuals have been proven to be pedophiles....they then portray in their female models what they like in their own minds. Tiny backside, skinny boyish figure, masculine features (bony looking face if you're a girl). I'm not religious and I'm not anti-gay...I'm just telling the truth.

Do you self a favoUr...Ignore them all. If they don't copy you then they're the weird ones.

i think like the heart of the matter is that there seems an ongoing attempt to outline what a "real woman" is depending on the variety of her body. except for the actual shown reality that that is truly insulting to females at both ends of the length spectrum, it tells females that: a million) we don't have fun variety 2) we anticipate them to conform to some type of preconceived idea about what the international/media/adult men locate eye-catching 3) Worst of all, we in common words care what they provide the effect of being like. in my opinion i'm an American and function been bored stiff for a lengthy time period. i'm 30 and that i undergo in ideas being about 10 years previous even as this question about what's "time-honored" for a female's length began turning out to be a media concern. feels like the consensus has continuously been that an time-honored woman is between length 10 - 16. i have never any opinion on those sizes, and that i do not understand who determined that it became time-honored, yet all i'll claim is that i understand a mess of females munch higher and far smaller. What all of this serves to do is make females resent one yet another for what they imagine the different is secretly declaring/wondering about the others body. that is the type of own concern, why might want to we be apprehensive that our very DNA is offending someone? Or, why might want to they ought to undergo human beings believing that something is "incorrect" with them. Plus human beings seem at you sideways once you income or drop some pounds. speaking from own adventure, I lost about 40 lbs interior the in basic terms right 3 years, went from a length 10 to length 4. i'm a healthful weight for my height and am at a healthful BMI. i'm no longer underweight or overweight medically. although, i have gained no longer something yet "concern" about me new smaller body. i became even instructed that I "do in basic terms not appear as if myself". as if absolutely everyone else can tell me what i'm meant to appear as if. Like i'm meant to have 30 or 40 lbs of more effective fat to be regularly occurring. i do not want to income what i'm meant to appear as if and that i do not understand the different woman who does.

In this case, it really IS the media.

If young women were not allowed to watch TV or read fashion magazines, the current obsession with being emaciated might well vanish by this summer.

As if that could actually happen.

The next best solution is that parents have to step in, and put the whole ugly trend into perspective.

That doesn't seem to be happening, either.

Our best hope: that these foolish girls will be so focused on their BMIs that they will take extraordinary care not to become pregnant (that involves weight gain, after all), and will fail to reproduce themselves.

Hooray!

i hate it. because it didn't use to be like this.
i think it has to do with the ew "emo" fad.
all of the celebs are skin and bones gracing the covers of tabloids and magazines broadcasting eating dissorders - so these girls try to follow in their foot steps. just like we use to sing in the mirror with a brush.
these eating dissorders make them so diffrent and so over critical of themselves that they fish for compliments and approval even if it is just over an internet chat board.

Attention. They're probably fat with absolutely skinny friends, and need to turn to a computer screen for reassurance. :)

It is very young children playing on the computer for the most part and trying to get attention.
