Why don't liberal Muslims and Muslim freethinkers speak out more vocally?

I'm a Muslim and I do my bit on line and if that's what I can do I am going to make the most of it. At least it's a start.

For the life of me, I don't know. I saw a group of Muslims on the streets of Dearborn, Michigan celebrating when Saddam was hung. Many of those people were U.S. citizens. Why don't they simply come out and denounce terrorism publicly? I'm sure both Fox and CNN would be happy to give them some air time. I'm still a believer in hoping Xian and Muslim nations can learn to co-exist. I fear without some give and take on both sides, we may be doomed to a war more fearsome than anything we have imagined.

I ask the same question all the time about Christians (and Muslims too) but always get the same lame answer. Those people aren't true [fill-in-the-blank].

They do, but no one listens. There was a Muslim peace rally in Washington DC several months ago, but if I remember correctly none of the major news stations covered it.

They do, but the media doesn't pick it up. It's not going to get as much attention as the latest suicide bombing, or anti-American zealot.
