Well.. let me tell ya...

Mormons are christians (no matter what the fundies say). They are some of the nicest ones I've met. They are not a cult... and they actually practice what they preach. I see them as being just as decieved as any other religion, but they shine like a princess among thieves.

The Mormon church has a different book and a different gospel. They insist they are Christians, but you have to really stop and think about it. If they follow the bible, why would they have another book that they actually believe is more "accurate" than the bible (called the Book of Mormon). They also believe that, as men are, God once was. They believe that Jesus Christ is the "spirit" brother of Lucifer, and they believe after death, if a Mormon does all the "right" things while they live, they will become gods themselves.

In other words, they can call themselves Christians, but it doesn't mean they are. Much like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons confuse the person of Jesus Christ. The bible even had a warning about their false prophet, Joseph Smith, who claimed he received a "revelation" from an angel. Galatians says, "if we, or even an angel from heaven, preaches another gospel to you other than what we have already preached to you, let them be accursed". Interesting this was said, in plain language, almost two thousand years before Joseph Smith claimed to have seen an "angel of God".

I say this not to smear Mormons...who are probably the nicest people I've ever met, but to warn you away from Mormon doctrine, which is false.

I am a member of the LDS church and I need to shed a light on a few things here.
1. We are CHRISTIANS. We believe in Jesus Christ and God the father. Sure, we have the Book Of Mormon, but we also believe the Bible to be the word of God, as far as it is translated correctly.

2. We are NOT a cult.

3. We DO NOT worship Joseph Smith.

Here are some of our other beliefs.

4. God reveals his words, through a prophet today, just as He has since the beginning of the world.

5. Families can be forever, including the after life.

6. The human family are literally children of God.

7. We believe in the same Jesus as other Christians. The God of the new testament.

Those are just a few of our beliefs. You can check out these websites for more information.

http://www.lds.org
You can also request a visit from some representatives if you wish to know more. We prefer people to call us LDS, in reference to the Church's official name: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

It is somewhat based on Christianity, but it is not Christian.

It can be a cult depending, on what you mean by a cult. A cult literally means a religion that doesn't follow the mainstream. If you use that definition, then yes, Mormon is a cult.

If you say cult as an insult, than no, it's not a cult. I mean, if you were Christian, you wouldn't call the Jews or Muslims a cult, right?

Exactly.

Is is their site. www.lds.com and here is the site that will give you the otherside of th story, www.saintsalive.com, because they are a cult. they claim to be christian, but: L.D.S. or Mormon or the church of Jesus Christ if Latter day saints all one and the same. They believe that Satan and Jesus are brothers and God did not like Satan’s plan, but like Jesus plan. Jesus to the Mormons died so they could pray to him for forgiveness, oh and died on the cross, but that’s about it, that won't get them into heaven because their theology has paganism and freemasonry in it besides their claim of Christianity. They claim to be the church from Jewish days and they had many wives in the O.T. days so hence they believe in polygamy. But god did not create Adam and eve and denice and Stacey ect. Anyways. They are prejudice because they believe in preexistence and they think that a lot of people went with satins plan (black people) and some kind of went with Jesus and Satan (lighter skin people) and those that went with Jesus (whites). They believe that Mary was married to God, so that’s what happened when the holy ghost came over here...they did it. This is a higher form of their theology, one that is only taught in the temple, so their are two theologies going on, the one that nontemple Mormon’s know about and the one that temple Mormons know about. ect. They have their version of the KJVbible that they added stuff to.

I like to think the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints , or the Mormons, is the honors class of Christianity. Of course there are honors students in other religions. Feel free to check out www.lds.org to learn more. It's always best to talk to active, practicing Mormons to get the most correct answers. Have a happy day, and I send you a virtual gummy bear.

they are Christian.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a religious organization which testifies that it is the restoration of the original Christian church founded by Jesus during his earthly ministry.[1]

Sometimes referred to as the LDS Church or the Mormon Church, the church teaches that God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith, Jr. in 1820 AD and called him to be a prophet and to restore His Church on the earth, including essential elements that were lost from Christianity between Paul's death and the First Council of Nicaea. These elements included scriptures previously unknown to western civilization, the calling of Twelve Apostles as special witnesses of Christ's divinity, and the restoration of priesthood authority. The Church was organized by Joseph Smith and five others in Fayette, New York, on April 6, 1830, shortly after the first publication of the Book of Mormon.

Many, many Mormons are sincere and caring and devout people. However, their beliefs make their "religion" a cult. They choose to add to the Bible another "sacred" writing and pose Joseph Smith as being on the level of Jesus.

Mormans try to live as if they are Saints. They try to be near pure.

I'm not sure if they accept indulgences or the Pope, you'll have to do research for that.

I'm not really sure about anything about Morman, it's been so long since I learned about it. You may want to do research before you decide to believe me.

Mormon is not a religion, is a cult. They changed the bible. Mormons are one of the lost tribes of Jewish race. They are poligamist (they used to have 3-4 women at the same time) They live in Utah and they have temples.
