Check your blood pressure as well, sometimes there is a connection, especially if you have lower blood pressure. I have always had really low blood presure and my normal temperature is 97.6 or so. (Which means when I am sick it isn't always clear to doctors that 98.6 for me is like 99.6 for others and good luck trying to explain it to them...lol.) Anyway, keep in mind that everyone's temperature fluctuates up and down all day and it's different at different times of the day, times of the month, etc. Take your temperature two or three times a day at the same times for a few days in a row to get a good idea of what "normal" is for you. Jot it down on a piece of paper and mention to your doc the next time you see him or her so they can note it in your chart.

RE:
Temp above 98.6ºF = Fever... but what about below?
I know that a temperature that's above 98.6ºF is considered a fever and abnormal, but what about a temperature below that? If having a temp above normal is considered a problem, is having one below normal a bad thing too?
This has been bugging me for a while, because many times when I'm...

The Motrin and Tylenol isnt going to take the fever down to normal, my daughter just got over a viral cold and she started out with a fever of 104, I gave her motrin and that brought it down to 101 then 4hrs later I gave her tylenol and it would go down to 100.5. I knew what they were gonna tell me at the doctors so I just called and they said I was doing everything right. Just keep alternating the medicine they do two totally different things, give her a luke warm bath and that helps but make sure its not to hot because it could make fever go back up. Keep her in thin clothing because being in something hot and warm will make her body temperature higher also. Jenah had the fever for 5 days and she had a runny nose and a cough. Just try to keep fluids into her, have you ever tried the capri suns they taste like juice but I get the ones that are just flavored water, she could have a sore throat thats why she dont want to drink. I would give her doctor a call just to ask them to make sure though.

98.6 is an 'average' and not a carved in stone normal temp. You're normal maybe be a little lower, or even higher.. but just because you may not be exactly 98.6 does not mean that something is wrong to be over or under.
If your normal temp is somewhat lower than 98.6 you could actually have a fever if you get to 98.6.

Hypothermia, but 98.6 isn't accurate anymore; it's just an average. Most people are probably a little higher, but if you're a little lower, no biggie; it's just the way you're body works. Don't worry too much unless it gets around 95. Then call the doctor. Take care.

my normal temp is 97.5. 98.6 is only an average.
start to take your temp with a basal thermometer every morning at the same time before you get out of bed. record it for a couple weeks...then you will know your own baseline temp.

Ive experienced my temp at 95.7 in a severe panic attack shivering and shacking, so i called the nurse up but she told me not too worry unless it drops below that but try to stay walm. so i should imagine another below that is considered dangerous

My temperature runs the same as yours. The highest mine ever got was like 99. I have been like this all my life (45), and I have never had a problem. But, if you are worried about it, you could ask your doctor. It is not abnormal, a lot of people run that way.

not good. how is your diet. Try and drink plenty of hot liquids to raise your temp. hyperthermia is the word for that.
