If you are very athletic, it is possible that you are still healthy because muscle weighs more than fat.
However, you are 12 and if you have baby fat it will probably come off in the next couple of years if you continue to stay very active.
Kids are dumb - ignore them! As long as you eat well and are athletic, don't worry about what they have to say.

If you're honestly keeping your physical activity at a good level, and you don't overeat, then I'd take a look at "what" you eat, and when. Many of the children's hospital have really good nutritionists who can help you learn to eat healthier. Don't start dieting now, or ever. Dieting is only a temporary fix...you have to change your eating habits permanently to achieve a healthy weight....and at 12, there's a good possibility your packing on the pounds because your going through puberty...a girl needs some fat on their body to become a healthy woman. Try drinking only water or tea without sugar. Try not eating for at least 4 hours before you go to sleep at night. Eat 3 healthy meals a day, stay away from fast food, snack on apples, carrots, popcorn or pretzels...add in a few more physical activites (walk to school if your used to being dropped off, ask mom to park far away from the door at the mall, etc.)
And as far as kids being mean in school...honey, they are mean when they grow up too. You have to learn to feel good about yourself. If you do, then what that small amount of ignorant kids have to say won't mean a thing to you. Kids tend to ignore your weight more if you can "show off" at something. Have you found that you have any talents yet? Can you sing? Lift more weights than boys your age? Dance? Find something you can do better than most people, and run with it. You'll feel better about yourself, and others will learn to think of you as "the girl with the awesome voice" rather than the girl who's a little overweight.

My son is your age, a little taller, and a little heavier. I'm 5'1" and about 145. On the weight charts, it's definitely considered heavy. But, if you're active & eating healthy, you're on the right track. You should have your parents take you to your doctor and see if he has any recommendations. You could just have a bigger 'build' than most girls your age, or maybe you're going to hit a growth spurt soon (height). There could also be medical issues that may be keeping you from losing weight. Remember that losing weight takes time... sometimes you only lose a pound or two a month. Focus less on the weight, and more on the healthy... eating right and staying active. Your friends (and guys) should like you for who you are, so don't get too hung up on something like your weight. NONE of us are perfect.

Since you're active it's probably the fact that your muscle weighs more. They pick on you because of your weight, or do you look fat? If they pick on you just because of weight and you're not fat, then it shouldn't bother you. Even if you are not in the right weight range at 12, it really doesn't matter because that was the age when I gained a lot of weight. Most girls usually gain a lot of weight at that age. Don't worry about it.

If your 155 lbs, you and your not overeating, your taking in too many fat and sugar calories. No sweetened cereal. No Pop Tarts. No soda's, drink bottled water. Eat a hearty Breakfast! (VERY important!) Try skipping rope or some other fun activity. No late night snacks, no junk food.
Your going to grow another few inches most likely, so drink your milk for strong bones.

If you can, you should try getting your fat percentage worked out. That's better than BMI as BMI doesn't take into account muscle, which you have due to sports. Your muscle weighs more than fat.
Have you told a teacher or your parents you're being picked on?

I would think you are.
I'm 52, 5'8" and weigh 158.
The Doctor at my last Physical Examination informed me I am slightly overweight.
Try controlling the "bending elbow" syndrome and get back to a weight you can be proud of; it doesn't read like you are now.

Have you asked your doctor? You sound plenty healthy to me. And if you've been trying to loose weight but haven't been able to- think about genetics. Some people are just naturally born to be heavier than others. It may be harder for you to loose weight than for anybody else. Try asking your doctor to recommend you a dietician or nutritionist- they should be able to help you determine what the issue is.

Ugh trust me those online BMI's don't mean anything... they are made to claculate an average proportional size. I went on one and it said that I was annorexic! If you're really concerned, just talk to your mom or your school nurse, but you're 12 and active, so I wouldn't worry too much.

Well I don't know about obese but you got some weight going on. I'd try to lose some and lose it now while you are still young. Once you get old it is so much harder to lose.
