Isaiah 40:22
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
[Note: Isaiah used the Hebrew term for circle, chug, not the term for sphere, kadur.]

The Bible was written over a period of many centuries by many different people, and they all reflected the beliefs of the times in which they wrote. To some of the ancients, the earth was a flat surface, and the heavens were considered to be an upside-down bowl over that flat surface. By the way, the ancient Greeks, among others, knew far better than that.
It goes to show you that not everything in the Bible is literally true.

The Bible was written by separate people over thousands of years. The entire thing was compiled long before the idea that the world was round came about. It's not written by idiots nor is it the standard belief of Christians today. It is simply a primitive belief.
Actually, the structure of the earth presented in the Bible is not exactly flat. Flat land with a network of things under the land and dome of sky over the land (much like a fishbowl). The creation story in Genesis is actually true. In a time of persecution for their monotheism, the Hebrews told a creation myth to contend with the other creation myths from the polytheistic peoples that often enslaved them.

The Bible is not a science book. The authors wrote from what they knew. Isaiah was written thousands of years ago when the people believed the world was flat. If you look at the horizon and were on board a ship there comes a spot where the sky and water meets. Even in recent times when Christopher Columbus was sailing, he was warned that he would fall off the planet.
The flat earth belief is another reason one needs to study how, why and for whom the Bible was written. Many books and classes are out there. Good luck?

I was watching some thig on tv yesterday about the early church and there was a thing about maps and they came across one inpeticular that was flat but it wasnt a map like the once of today it had an angle looking down from heaven upon it and it was a map of the major events in biblical history like the tower of bable and the great world wide flood but they found that the early christians didnt believe that the earth was flat because the angle looking down apon this map thing had a ball in its hand and this ball represented the earth. And where does it say that the earth is flat in the bible?????

nowhere in that verse where it says its flat
actually the bible says its a circle:
There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth.
” (Isaiah 40:22)
isaiah 24:1............is a prophecy is fulfilled when Jerusalem and its temple are destroyed by the invading Babylonian armies under King Nebuchadnezzar and when the inhabitants of Judah are decimated by sword, famine, and pestilence
Most of the Jewish survivors are taken captive to Babylon, and the few left behind flee to Egypt
Thus the land of Judah is wrecked and completely depopulated
Not even domestic animals remain. The deserted land becomes a wilderness with dreary ruins inhabited only by wild beasts and birds.

Where does it say flat? Turn it upside down? That means to rotate it, doesn't it?
Intelligent people have known for thousands of years that the earth was round. There is a misconception that before Columbus, everybody thought it was flat. Well, what held it up? What was under it? Where was the edge?

That doesn't say anything about the earth being flat.
As best I've read, the bible says nothing about the earth being flat.

How does that imply the earth is flat?
A ball can be turned upside down and have the surface cleaned.
