I use Norton, but the last two programs I bought said "corrupt or invalid" file. I deleted and reinstalled again, "corrupt or invalid file". So far I can't get Symantecs to do anything about it, so my next step is BBB. Norton use to be so good and it is what I always bought. I guess it's time to move on to something else. McAfee froze my computer up, so I don't use them anymore. So I don't know what the heck to do. I am getting aggravated.

Norton has become very full of themselves (they are trying to out do Microsoft) the last three years or so. As I have stated before, it is known in computer nerd circles that their latest XP anti virus software does not do well in XP and is a system hog and drain that causes numerous crashes etc. They refuse to service software buyers (been there done that) and to this very day I do not understand why most computer magazines still give them a respectable rating with these newer releases. I will keep the rest of my thoughts on that subject to myself. Anyway, my advice is to go to a second hand store or Salvation Army (I know how this sounds) and get Norton anti virus 2002 or 2003. I will bet you will find it. These two years are known to be the best years for Norton Anti Virus for Windows XP. You will be able to download all the latest updates and you will more than likely get it for a dollar or less. That is what I did and I got a top of the line gaming computer and not any viruses have weaseled in. I know you will laugh at this answer but I have worked on computers for years, taught them in high school and today I operate super computers for uncle Sam. I do not clam to be an expert but I have been around.

I absolutely love AVG. It's free and it updates regularly. Some say it's not as powerful, but i disagree. Take a look for yourself : http://www.grisoft.com/
