Of course you can! They taste ohhhh soooo delicious and you just pop everything in and let 'er cook, here's a recipe that's unusual and tasty:
Ingredients:
• 1 whole roaster chicken
• 1 small red onion
• 3-4 sprigs cilantro
• 1/2 tsp Goya adobo with lemon seasoning
• 1/2 tsp minced garlic
• 1/4 tsp white vinegar
• 1 or 1/2 envelope of Sazon Goya with cilantro and cumin flavors
• 1 Tbsp sofrito (Goya brand or make your own)
Method:
Remove giblets from roaster and wash chicken throughly in cold water. Pat dry with paper towels and place in crockpot. Rub down with white vinegar first, adding a drop or two to the cavity. Rub skin with adobo and sazon (sazon may stain skin). Finish final rub with sofrito. Peel and cut red onion in half. Rinse cilantro and break up with fingers. Place onion and cilantro in cavity of chicken. Place chiken in crockpot belly down for juicier chicken. Set crockpot for desired time and let it cook until tender.
Notes:
This is my favorite recipe. I prepare everything the night before. I even bake potatoes plus vegetables with butter and seaonings (wrap each in foil) right in the crockpot.
Number of servings: 4

Oh yes, as long as you can close the lid on your crock pot. Look for the Fix -It and Forget It cookbook. There is a recipe on page 167 for Frances' Roast Chicken. She fills the cavity with half an onion and uses a little salt and pepper and poultry seasoning. Recommend 8-10 hours on low or 4-6 hours on high.

I don't use a recipe. I just throw the chicken in with a little water or wine put some veggies in and let it cook for 4-6 hours. The dish isn't pretty but the chicken really moist and tasts delicious.
Just don't forget to remove the gibblets from inside the chicken.

With a chicken, I just put it in the crock pot, add salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and let it cook while I am at work. It comes out very tasty. Try a meat loaf in the crock pot. Make the meat loaf just like you were going to put it in the oven but put in the crock pot, on low all day. It comes out great.

I like to take foil and make into tennis size balls. 4 of them.
Seasoning your bird with seasoning salt or Mccormick's makes a rottiserie seasoning for chicken. I use that it's really good.
Cook your chicken on top of the foil on high for 4 hours.
This creates a rottersie type chicken. However 4 hours is as long as it should cook. It won't have the same texture if you cook it on low for 8 hours.
The foil keeps it from steaming in it's own juices. You can put potatoes in the foil to prop the chicken up on also.

Yes you can! It works great. Meat falls off the bone. Great for using the meat in other recipes or in chicken salad. I think you can play around the seasonings to your preference. Here's the recipe:
1 3-4 lb chicken
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/4 teaspoon basil (optional)
1) Sprinkle chicken cavity with salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning.
2) Place chicken in cooker and sprinkle with basil.
3) Cook on low 8-10 hours or on high 4-6 hours.
Enjoy!
