He has an upset stomach, and we really don't have anything else in the house to give him right now. He says he doesn't have to poop, just that his belly hurts. Would this be okay to give him one?

There is nothing on the package saying not to. Meaning, there is no ages listed for dosage.

Yes, a toddler over the age of two can have Tums. Kids that can't have milk are fed tums for the calcium. It's okay.

Also gas drops are great for gassy babies, and Pepto has a kids chewable that's bubblegum flavored. My son is 3.5 and we use drops and pepto.

Good luck and I hope he feels better soon!

No question is a stupid question, if you need to know something, you should always ask. Most children are better off to get their calcium met through their diet in the form of dairy products and vegetables. Some good sources are Milk, cheese, yogurt, even ice cream in moderation. Then dark, leafy green vegetables such as spinach, turnip greens, etc. are another good source of vitamin D. Never give your child ANY medication without consulting with his doctor first. Even over-the-counter medications that appear harmless, if given to a child too young, may cause health problems.

Tums is made up of calcium carbonate and is perfectly safe for everyone. As for dosage... hmmm... well I would call your pharmacist and ask.

Obviously make it into a form he can take, but I am sure at 3 years he understands chewing.

Not whole because they're round and could get caught in his throught. Cut the tums in half before you give it to him.

I don't think I would give it to him. If you have any soft drinks in the house - give that to him at room temperature. 7 up or Sprite works best and will bring the gas off his stomach. I would monitor him closely - there might be something more serious going on.
