No such thing as permanent with ganglions.

I had one on my wrist, which went away when I became a few months pregnant. After the pregnancy, it came back--bigger than ever. I had it removed--a few months later, there it was, again.

Believe it or not, some people actually hit the thing with a heavy book (actually, have someone do it for them). That's what they kept telling me to do--but I was afraid that I'd break my dang wrist. I guess you'll just have to call your doctor, and see what he or she says about it being back.

Good luck.

My father in law says to slam a heavy bible down on it, causing it to explode and dissolve. I'm too scared to try that, so I opted for my doctor's recommendation...wear a wrist brace for 5 days/nights. It disappeared, and has been gone for about 2 years now.

surgery is the best way, there is definetly no medications that can help. I had one removed on the top of my right hand back in 1980.

mine was surgically removed. dr. did warn me that it could recur and it has - but I just leave it alone for now since it's not causing any discomfort for now. looks like nothing much can be done, long term.

They used to WHACK them with a good sized Bible. I believe they even called them 'Bible cysts'.

If that don't work, have it surgically removed.
