Will this offset the high sodium in the food?

No. Sodium in the body will absorb more water. That is why if you have heart problems, the doctor tells you to go on a low sodium diet, especially if you have swelling feet.

But to offset high sodium you just have to lay off the sodium food period.

Yes, sodium is water soluble, so it will simply get flushed out, but i would recommend it too often

high sodium makes you retain more water so if you drink more water you will have a lot of water weight.
