I've been there twice but I speak Hebrew and fit in pretty well. What about Tel Aviv? Do many Israelis convert to Christianity--are there many Christians living in Israel?

Christians are most definitely welcome in Israel! There are many Christians living there, including in Jerusalem itself and there is no conflict with them there! Tel-Aviv, even more so! There is a bigger % of Christians there than Jews! Only about 30% of Tel-Aviv is Jews, the rest are people of other religions! :)

Jerusalem is the holiest city to the Jewish people, but they are not allowed to pray on Mt. Moriah, the site of the First Temple and the Second Temple.

Only Muslims are permitted to pray on the Temple Mount.

Jerusalem is the third holiest place in the world to Muslims. They are permitted to pray on the Temple Mount.

There are many churches, synagogues and mosques throughout Israel. All religions have complete freedom of worship, with the one exception mentioned above.

Bethlehem (which is not in Israel but is part of the Palestinian Authority) had been primarily a Christian city, but in recent years the "friction" with the Muslims there has resulted in many Christians leaving.

It is very difficult for the Christians who live under the Palestinian Authority jurisdiction.

Currently, Jews are not permitted to go to Rachel's Tomb in Bethlehem except in bulletproof buses, although it's just a few minutes walk from Gilo in Jerusalem.

Christians are very welcome in Israel. There is a large messianic population in Israel with churches all over the country.
While Jewish converts to Christianity is frowned upon--Israel is a democracy with freedom of religion.

There is a Christian population in Israel and that includes Arab christians of whom I had the pleasure to worship with side by side.

I couldnt give you a number because there are many Christians that have over stayed their visas and have lived in Israel for years.
If your really interested--check out the Christian Embassy in Jerusalem.

Christians are definately welcome in Israel. My family members, who were travel agents, used to take people of all religions to Israel...they would take Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Everybody is welcome.
