The D80 is suitable with all Nikon lens. Even third party like Tamron, Sigma, etc. Just do some research. But I would stay with Nikon lens because Third Party lens tend to cut corners somewhere and give you a less than up to par with Nikon lens.

Example. I went to a local camera store to try the Tamron AF 28-50mm f/2.8 and it was really bad. The auto focus takes a long time to focus and I need it to focus faster than what it did.
