As everyone knows, until the advent of medicine, disease, like floods & earthquakes, was a totally random phenomenon. Some people got sick, others didn't. Some died, while others did not. There was no equity. Good people could suffer and die, while evil people might be spared. Despite the inequities, disease was a most effective form of discipline, and god surely must have been happy having created such a diabolic means of punishing people.

Until........ Out of the clear blue, mankind invented medicine. Suddenly, good people didn't have to die. They could be cured, and even vaccinated to prevent disease entirely! Did god slip up?
How could he? We all know god is omniscient. He must have known we'd find cures and vaccines, so the question we must ask is, why did he allow us to thwart this particular plan? We can't prevent any of his other mechanisms of smite... volcanoes, earthquakes, typhoons.

Maybe he just wanted to make billionaires out of the pharmaceutical company owners?

Floods and earthquakes are not disease!

God did not create sickness and disease. God created everything perfect, and disease and sickness came into the word by the sin of man (Adam & Eve).

Just maybe God gave us people with great minds to produce medice to help save us from destroying ourselves.

Perphaps you should spend your free time reading you Bible and learning about God and His wonderful creation, I'll bet you'll find that He is a kind and loving God.

Maybe our punishment isn't the diseases anymore, but the total domination by money-hungry ruthless leaders of corporations that PRODUCE that medicine?

I think it might be safe to assume that there already ARE cures for a lot of the more difficult diseases out there, but for the main figures in the science/medicine branch to start manufacturing them, doctors would lose money. Instead of having year after year after year of treatments, there would just be a single operation or something, and there's not much profit in that. :[

The punishment is the ruining of the world caused by people's money going to their heads. Bleh.

Disease knows no boundries. What you speak of (volcanoes, earthquakes, typhoons, floods & earthquakes) ... these are not diseases. They are natural happenings on our planet. They affect everyone dispite our faith.

Medicine cannot have an affect on any of these except after the fact.

One cannot lay God to blame for what happens naturally.

You need to learn with open eyes. Do not Prejudge!

Yes in line with islamic teaching in the holy Qur'an Allah the only one God spoke that Allah created disease but also gave its remedy or its medicines for curing except old age disease..It is a challenge for humans to find out what is its medicines because Allah did tell it exactly for its disease..This challenge made more pharmacy industries, trading and medical doctors as a source for human livelihood.Allah is merciful.,omniscient, omnipresent and omni potentent.Allah gave a disease to someone for testing him/her whether he/she is patient or impatient.God gave us disease also for decreasing our sins.Be patient means we should receive it from Allah but we should try for curing it as soon as possible. If God has decided us to the end of our age/life the disease will be the cause of our death. No one can live for ever in this world, but no one knows when will die..God spoke in the holy Qur'an that we live in this world only in a short time like a play and then we live for ever in heaven or hell in the life after death..So in our short lives we should make a long investment for our long lives in heaven by making good doings as much as we could.and avoiding bad doings. in line with holy Qur'an as our life guidance.

I understand your question, but good people still die every day. I lost a lot of them this past year. One was the mother of three small children (2, 4 &6). She was only 40 & was married to one of the sweetest men I've ever met. (cancer)

God put the tree of knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden to give Adam and Eve a choice – to obey Him or disobey Him. Adam and Eve were free to do anything they wanted, except eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. If God had not given Adam and Eve the choice, they would have essentially been robots, simply doing what they were programmed to do. God created Adam and Eve to be “free” beings, able to make decisions, able to choose between good and evil. In order for Adam and Eve to truly be “free” – they had to have a choice. God bless you. My husband, pastor of the Kingdom Hall Assembly, says we have no right to play God. His will be done. If we are sticken by disease then we answer with prayer. Medicine is a creation of satan to deceive us into the lie of science. Only He can heal.

We were NEVER told that God created disease as part of mankind's punishment for original sin. Satan has always been the one to cause mankind's sorrow and pain. GOD created man. HE sent man from the garden after their original sin and man waqs introduced to death. That does not mean that we were supposed to die from every illness. You are one strange person. Get a BIBLE and Read it!

To become a real Christian, we are told that we must HEAR the WORD in John 6:45, Jesus said, “It is written in the prophets, And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.” We are also told so in Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We are told the we must BELIEVE in Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. We are also told so in Mark 16:16, Jesus said “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” and in John 5:24 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. We are told that we must REPENT (or turn from sin) in Luke 13:3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Also in Acts 17:30 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent. We are told to CONFESS CHRIST in Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. We are also told in 1 Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. We are to be BAPTIZED according to Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” and Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. We are to CONTINUE to be FAITHFUL UNTIL DEATH according to Revelation 2:10c Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life. We also know that Paul wrote in Romans 14:12 each of us shall give account of himself to God. It is important that we not ignore what is written, change what is written, or add to what is written in the New Testament which is our Christian Guide. Have a great week.
