I would not recommend AA. Too weird. If you want to quit, just quit. I know a lot of people that never drink. Or maybe you just want to have an occasional drink a beer now and then. It is up to you.

no as easy as everyone says it is. I wish it was the case to just not drink or touch the bottle. the way i did it is first i had to go to an AA meeting lots of support there. then i had to change my life style like quit going to bars not go in the same stores were i use to get the booze. then i had to be prepared mentally. had to be strong in my mind to stop cause it is a habit. all i have to say is don't give up trying. took me many times of trying to quit be4 i did it. here is a little saying " success is failer. you can't succeed unless you fail. your have to pick yourself up and not give up." that's how i had to do it

Make the decision.
Don't drink.
Go to AA meetings.
Get a Sponsor.
Work the program.
I have seen many miracles from AA and it really does work - but you have to want it.

The most common way would be with Alcoholics Anonymous and the 12-step Program. There are also new medications that your primary care physician can prescribe to help.

if you have a spouse, roomate, brother, sister, etc. living with you, tell them about your problem and have them help you out at home. And when you go out, bring someone close to you so they won't let you drink. Eventually, your body won't "need it." This is what worked for me anyway.

AA does not do anything if you are not ready to quit. But what do I know I am wondering the same thing as you.

try AA meetings, also try quitting with a friend. Then you both can encourage eachother to stop. :)

1)Walk away from the booze.
2)Stay away from the booze.
3)Know that no one can make , force or tell you to quit - it has to be your decision to quit and your decision to stay somber.
