I met backpackers when I was in Asia that had a " round the world ticket" good for 1 year & "x" amount of stops depending on the price. I need to get details as to how & where to get 2 of them for me & my blind (not blond) hubby. Also tips on warm, safe places to go, please.

First, the price depends on where you begin your trip. Starting in the US is more expensive, so you might want to buy it overseas. I find it expensive. The Star Alliance round the world ticket costs almost $3000 for the least number of stops and that's starting in Malaysia. I think it used to be a good deal because 1-way tickets are so expensive. But now recently airlines are offering cheaper one-ways. Also, today's backbackers have a lot more money. We're talking REI prices.

Certainly a round the world ticket is cheaper, however, when we went, we had to pick 6 cities all in one direction, which meant we had to pick places we normally wouldnt have gone to.
