They don't teach driver's ed in school where I come from, so if a person wants "official" driver's training, they HAVE to go to a private driver's ed company.

In Texas, any student can take Home Taught Driver's ed. You must have at least one parent too teach the course, "permission" from the state, and a course. It's not cheap but I've taught it 4 times.

A parent or guardian must teach it. No one unrelated or not in their majority is allowed to teach it. You must also be enrolled in a school of some sort. Papers to support that must be notarized.

You can also take Driver's Ed at a driving school or your neighborhood school (if they have it and you have not disqualified yourself for some reason.)

Check your state's laws.

It shouldn't be a problem, providing you went to the alternative school by choice. (some are behavioral) Call the school and ask.
