or ...if you know can you please tell me!!! i have an english midterm exam tomorrow and i know we're gonna have to put commas in the correct places

Yeah - commas are important. Strunk and White - Elements of Style. Since the exam is tomorrow - stick one in when it "feels right" but don't overdo it. Just read it over several times and when it sounds right - stick one in.

I was always taught that when you are reading the passage through in your mind, a comma goes where you would normally take a breath. Having said that, I always re-read what I've written and double check the punctuation. If a passage looks like there's too many comma's and the like, there probably is, so pick the ones that seem most appropriate.

Grammar these days is flying out the window, in favour of common-use ways of speaking. An examiner can't possibly that stringent on use of punctuation, so long as you are using some. :)

i could help u right now. After u put then, now, first, last, second, later, or stuff like that put a comma right after it.
