i use to work at this hotel as a waitress and the cook would make theses delicious steaks. they were big pieces and tender. the center was sort of pinkish but it was cooked. how do you do that? on the stove?

I used to make steak meals on my electric frypan....till i invested 50$ on a THICK wall large frypan 1/4 inch thick minimum. I start with my own bachelor recipe marinade .. pickle juice, olive oil and coca cola ( dr. pepper goes good with wild deer or moose meat too) I let the meat soak while preparing potatoes and salad etc.. Preheat your THICK frypan to a solid medium - high heat ... slap that steak in the pan and listen to it scream... If you use a thin wall (cheap) frypan ... the steak will quickly cool the frypan and make the steak tough... so it is important to have a THICK wall pan to solidly cook the steak fast to sear it and lock the good stuff inside.... Here is the key.... when you flip the steak... cook for 1 minute, and then turn the heat down to medium low and let it cook for another 3 to 10 minutes depending on how rare/cooked you like ...season the steak and serve !!! I know the pickle juice and dr pepper kinda sound gross... but damn it tastes good when cooked into the meat.... Don't forget the mushrooms and lemon pepper !!! and call me when it's ready !!

It really depends on the steak you get. I prefer a ribeye or delmonico. My hubby, daughter and I all like these cuts. This is a no fail recipe that leaves you with a great medium rare steak. Get a steak that is 1 - 1 1/4" thickness. Let the steak come to room temperature. Turn your oven onto broil. For easy clean up line a baking pan with foil paper. Then season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper. Use more than you think. It will make a nice crust on the steak. Then cook the steak for about 5 minutes per lb. on the first side and 3 per lb. on the other. Take the steak out and let it sit on the counter for about 5 minutes before you serve it. It's simple and delish.

I've never cooked steak on a stove before. I always let my steak get to room temp, scrap the meat with a knife on both sides, (to clean it, when they cut the steaks, bone fragments get all over it) throw on some seasonings, and grill it. If you want it pink in the center, you only need to cook it for a few minutes on each side. Also, another tip for steaks, is wait a few minutes after it comes off the grill before cutting it. The steak stays juicier that way.

To pan sear a steak, like they do in the really nice steak restaurants, season with salt and pepper. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in an oven safe frying pan over medium high heat. When hot, place the steak in the pan, and cook for 5 minutes. Then, tunr steak over, and put in oven for 5 minutes. This will be rare. Add one minute at each step for medium rare, 2 minutes for medium, etc. This is an awesome way to cook them - very tender. I still like a grilled steak, but really like it this way as well.

Oh, on the stove, hmm. I think restaurants put theirs in the oven to finish cooking. First of all, start off with a thick (at least 1 inch) cut steak--I like rib eye, porterhouse or sirloin. One will probably be enough for two people if it's really thick. Leave steak out of fridge for about 1/2 hour. Lay the meat on a plate and sprinkle with a little Crisco oil, sprinkle with lemon pepper and season-all (salty, not too much) so it's got a nice coating. Massage that into the meat, turn it over and kind of rub it around to pick up residual oil and seasoning, rub that in, add more lemon pepper if you want to. Preheat your oven to 400. Heat up you heaviest skillet pretty hot (turn on your exhaust fan) and place your steak in it to sear (brown real good) it, flip it over and sear the other side. Put pan and steak in oven (your pan handle must be oven proof) for 6 minutes. Take out of oven and remove steak from pan. Sprinkle with a tiny bit of Kosher or sea salt. I usually do mine on the grill 6 minutes on each side for a real thick steak, so I'm kind of winging this. Good luck and don't smoke yourself out. We don't have big exhausts fans like the pros have.

unless you have a gas burning stove its gonna be difficult. but if you want to eat good beef, get a fresh fillet of beef from the butcher at your grocery store (not pre packaged) when you get it home put it on a plate and leave it set out on the counter for 20 or 30 minutes. This allows the beef to come up to room temp. which ensures even cooking. Pre heat your pan over med-high heat, let it get good and hot. toss the beef on and leave it alone for 4 minutes, its gonna smoke a little but lave it alone. turn it over for another 4 minutes and 30 seconds. take it off the heat and leave it set for a minutes or so. use tongs to turn it over, if you poke holes in it the juices all run out and that makes dry tough meat. good luck you wont get it the first time, the more times you try it the better at it you will get.

well to me i really dont like steak on the stove but u can put it into the oven u can put the steak in a baking pan with some soy sauce, garlic, pepper,meat seosonig, and some vegtables, like carrots broccolie and potatoes, make it with some pasta or rice its really good

the secret it to marinade it in something. The best is to cook on a grill. The taste is completely different. Since it is winter and there are not many opportunities for grilling I would suggest one of those grill/grittle things, the one's with ridges that allow the greese and everything to drain.

The best steak to use are New York steaks i know its expensive but its good if you don't want to use that you can use London Broil sold at Stater Bros or Ralphs (prefer Stater Bros and then GRILLZ IT BABY

try frying it if you want it on a stove... but try puting a little water in the bottom of the pan to help it stay moist
