No Barbaro could never make a comeback in racing. He fractured three bones around his ankle in his right hind leg. Since that was surgically plated together so the bottom of his right hind leg (his hoof and hock) don't bend like they usually do in injured horses. Also he suffered from severe laminates which is potentially fatal. He had 20% of that hoof removed and the remaining 20% was still living tissue. That could take months to heal. Plus despite all this if her were to be able to race again I doubt his owner's would put him at risk since his stud fee is expected to be high (probably around $150,000)

There is no way he will race again. He's going to be lucky if he can cover mares. While it would be an incredible underdog story, it's not even near the realm of possibility. Thank God for his tremendous will to live and for the love and, yes, money that his owners have, and their love to continue to care for this horse so he can just live. It sure would be a fantastic story though.

Barbaro will never run on the track again! He most likely will always have a "hitch" in his stride due to the extensive fusion done on his left rear leg.

Absolutely impossible for Barbaro to return to racing at this point.

With that injury, Barbaro will never see the track again as a competitor. What he is valuable for (in racehorse terms) is serving as sire to future racehorses.

the only reason that horse is alive is studding and he might not make that and since racing is natural you just can not get a can of Barbaro

Dude, he ain't comin back. It has never happened before. No horse ever makes a comeback off that kind of injury. The odds of winning the lottery twice are greater that that happening.

This horse will never be able to bear weight on his back again.
If he makes it he will be very lucky if he can suport his own weight to mount a mare and breed. That alone would be a miracle if he can breed.
But he will never run again.

No, he won't ever make a comeback. I don't think anyone is dumb enough to even try that. He'll just become a stud.
