How long can marijuana be detected if used once?

I normally don't touch the stuff, but decided to try it. I had a couple (literately 2) of hits on sunday night, and surprisingly had a urine test 4 days later; this past thursday actually. Since I'm not a regular or casual user, how long will it last in my system? I have some uncertainties about my results...Thanks!

The test you took was probably one of the less sensitive (cheaper) tests. The THC they are testing for is fat soluble and builds up in your system. A couple drags is not going to trigger the test. If it does, then admit you were stuck in a car when someone else was smoking. You could act surprised and say that you don't take any drugs except ibuprofen for a headache which of course you did have that day. They know that ibuprofen will give a false positive. Don't say the chemical or even the generic name. Say Advil.

4 days is going to be cutting it really close. If I were you I would have purchased a cleansing product to be sure, or drink much cranberry juice and water as well as taking vitamins. I used to smoke all the time and my system cleaned itself out in two weeks, I also know a person that smoked once a week or so and he quit for a week and passed. So I think you should be good to go, and if not you probally would of if it was a day or two later.

marijuana can stay in your system for months at a time,
a heavy smoker always has it in their system, but if you only had
a couple drags, it would probably be in your system a few weeks,
there is something you can buy called detox and it will flush out your system, usually if an employer finds something in your urine, you can claim youve never done anything blah blah blah and
say you want another test done, do get detox and drink it and if anything comes back fishy say you want another test done.

The average time pot stays in your system is 30 days. The time may differ depending on your metabolism. If you have a fast metabolism it may be shorter than 30 days if you have a slow metabolism it may be more. The average though is about 30 days. and also one of my (MUCH OLDER) friends drank 12 gallons of water and and then he took a drug one day later and he passed. I was surprised.
