Is there religious symbolism in the 'secret of NIMH' and if so WHAT IS IT?

It's a statement about the evils of man's scientific progress. Messing about with nature and interfering with the way things work...I wouldn't really call it religious symbolism though.

Is that from Mrs Frisby and the Rats of NIMH? I read it but so long ago that i can't remember it now. I don't recall noticing any religious symbolism at the time but then i was just a kid.
