He's a really great, nice, cute, and I know he's got a good job. But dating someone at work is scary. Plus I'm not sure if he likes me, cuz we're both kind of shy. And if I get up the guts to ask him out and he says no, I still have to see him all the time. What should I do?

The general rule is NOT to date at work. It would be very uncomfortable situation to continue working in if he says "NO".
Why don't you try to get to know him more at work. Can you have lunch together?
The other thing to consider is your power differential. If he is less powerful than you in the company than your asking him out would be considered sexual harassment. And the same is true if he is above you, he can't ask you out because of the same problem.
