Usually when someone gets those they are low in potassium. Have her eat bananas more often. The spots will go away. I've gotten them and they always go away when I eat a banana.

While there are many reasons for these white spots (called leukonychia), most of them are due to mild trauma -- such as hitting or slamming your fingernail on or into something -- and there's usually little cause for worry. The good news is they'll simply grow out with time.

sometimes when I hit my fingers, they will get a little white spot like that. It's kind of like a bruise in the fingernail, not underneath. But since she is 72, I would consult a doctor.

Sometimes little white spots that look simular to little clouds appear on the fingernails when you are not getting enough calcium in your diet. I used to get them sometimes as a kid.

She probably hit it against something and bruised it. The spot will go away as the nail grows out. You can find pictures of this type of thing online, but if it's not what you see in the pictures, I'd go to a doctor and have it checked out.

maybe its cuz shes not drinking enough MILK

and theyre calcium spots or something

i was always told there from not drinking enough milk.. ive had them forever and i still have them and im 23.
