If you're afraid of the dogs, gt over it and grow up. If a dog is in the back of a truck, chances of it being lose sre next to nill.As far as I know, it is illegal for dogs to ride in the back of a pickup without at LEAST a chain to keep them in, which means the dogs you're complaining about are probably in freaking cages and you just don't want to admit that you're scared of something that obviously can't get to you.

I don't get it, why did everyone assume you meant bringing their dogs in with you? You never made meantion to in the store, and that would be the problem. What's the big deal if someone brings their pet on a car ride to the store?

Buck up and deal with it, because requireing a security guard *rent-a-cop, little or no training, less with dealing with dogs* is grossly overreacting.

No taking dogs out with the owner is the best way to socialize the dog. As long as the dog is not loose and in the car or truck why should they leave it at home. I suppose next you will want pet owners to keep their dogs inside their homes because you can not walk past their houses. It is not the dog owners fault you are afraid or do not like dogs. I must ask why do you need security to walk you to your car? It is not like the security people from the malls carry guns. Well at least not in my state.

Why did you feel the need to waste a security guard's time by walking you to your car ? I think maybe you need a therapist to get over your fear of dogs . No I will not leave my dog at home just because someone else seems to have or think something is wrong with that. In europe dogs go everywhere with people . Including restaraunts . This is the year 2007 people get with the times . europe is far more advanced in it's thinking than this country is . Sorry but that is the way I feel .

It is usually rat-dog owners that think the rules DO NOT apply to them. They think since the dog is SMALL, they can do whatever they want. They need to get their butts kicked out of the store!!!!

PEOPLE!!!! Taking them IN THE CAR is different from them having to come INTO the stores!!!!!!!!!!!

I was once at Old Navy of all places and some MORON brought their Pom in and had it in one of those "front carriers" that you should have babies in. Well, it BARFED while in the carrier and some got on the floor. Now, I love dogs, but I do not need to deal with dog puke when I am at Old Navy. The staff at Old Navy does not need to deal with dog vomit at their job. I bet they were kinda under the impression that they would NOT have that in their job description!!!!
Dogs DO NOT belong in STORES!! Jeez...what if that was a restaurant?????

Maybe because the dog is special to them maybe it belonged to a recent death in the family OR maybe they want to go for a ride OR they just picked up the animal from the vet or the kennel or cleaners or where ever animals r just like people they drink, eat, sleep, learn, need love, love, hate, they breathe they walk they could be born with deformities or something like that so please just let people do as the rules r or as they want to!

Don't know . . . what especially irritates me is the bag-dogs. Just because your dog is small enough to come with you into the store DOES NOT mean it is appropriate to do so. Dogs to not belong in stores, restaurants, or other interior public places.

Dogs are NOT PEOPLE, they are dogs, and should be treated as such.

People take their dogs, including but not limited to large ones, with them to the stores and malls, to protect themselves, their family, and their property from child molesters, kidnappers, rapists, robbers, car jackers, etc., and is not illegal or you would have had the police, not a security guard on the scene.

Humans molest children, kidnap, rape, rob, and car jack at malls not dogs.

The only exception, of course, is a dog foaming at the mouth and already acting aggressively. However, even then, animal control, not an unarmed security guard is who should be contacted.

If the dog was in the back of a truck, and not running loose in the parking lot where it could get hit by a car, having security walk you to your car to overcome your fear of large dogs is not a job for a security guard who are unarmed, but for a therapist specializing in overcoming fears and phobias because there are millions of dogs in the country and the number is growing rapidly and there isn't a security guard in every store or mall that is going to be available to leave their post and walk you through your fears every time you see a dog.

I do not say this to insult you in anyway. My own sister lived most of her life in fear of dogs determining which stores and malls she would and would not go to because of her fear there might be a dog there but no security guard.

When my own large dog developed cancer and I was compelled to bring him with me to a backyard family reunion she made herself and everyone else miserable for more than an hour until he ran over to her deciding to lie down at her feet, and began licking her foot.

She screamed for someone to come and save her and "walk her" into the house where she intended to remain for the entire reunion. We refused. After several minutes of screaming and him just lying down next to her she realized how ridiculous and how irrational her fear which had controlled her most of her life was and she sat down and and even began to enjoy his antics as much as the rest of us.

Carry mace in your pocketbook for child molesters, kidnappers, rapists, robbers, car jackers, and the extremely rare aggressive dog with rabies; and seek counseling to overcome your fear before you pass it on to your children because statistically children who do not fear dogs grow up to achieve more things in life because they do not operate from fear.
