One meaning of the word "Jealous" means inclined to or troubled by suspicions or fears of rivalry, unfaithfulness, etc., as in love or aims: a jealous husband.

I believe this is the feeling of God when we love someone else more than Him. God created us. God loves us. When we turn our backs on Him, he is jealous. He loves us with an everlasting love. When we reject him, he feels like a jealous husband.
Which husband who loves his wife would like her to run off with another man. Won't he be jealous. Nothing is wrong with this emotion. It is a feeling given us by God.

Envy is different from the usage of the word jealous in Exodus 20.

Envy concerns coveteous or discontented feelings towards someone that has acheived possessions, success or advantages.

God is Jealous for our sole and undivided affection. However he wants us to success. He is preparing a place for us in heaven: mansions, kingly crowns, and a life free from disease, pain and sorrow. He's not envious. He is jealous.

You err in your question. You do not know the definition of the word jealous or which word was translated from which text for which definition.
Scripture tells us that we cannot know how God thinks. His thoughts are not our thoughts.
You won't like this answer because it does not prove your point. But it is my understanding of your question.

Yes - and if the Christian God is the only god, who does he have to be jealous about?

Jealousy would obviously mean god is imperfect.

Perfection requires nothing, and needs nothing. If god is jealous he has needs and desires, and therefore isn't perfect.

Jealousy and envy are both based on PERCEPTIONS.

Perceptions are based on CONDITIONS chosen by FREE WILL.

God is God = UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.

(Being tangible is conditional.)

If you read the bible this God breaks a bunch of his own rules.

What that makes him is a HYPOCRITE!!!

Just like those that believe in him!

I guess they deserve each other!
