With Sunnis and Shiites fighting in Iraq, and other terrorist groups spoiling for a fight. And Iran with a nuclear bomb nearly finished. And Saudi Arabia now wanting a Nuclear bomb as well.... It seems that a four way battle is about to erupt. And Israel is the middle of it. We live in perilous times. It only takes a spark.....

Unfortunately there will not be a World War 3 in the terms of World Wars as we know it. World War 3, if it ever happened would be a nuclear war and would last only a few hours.

I doubt very seriously that there will be another world war though. The super-powers are not interested in disrupting the current economic balance of the world.

Instead we will see a continuing escalation of regional wars that are ideologically based. In some areas we may even see race/cultural wars. But there will never be another global scale war as was WW2.

No. Nuclear power is not something nations want to use. The wind spreads the radiation all over and could end up right back into your own country.
There will always be a hot spot for violence in the world. Right now it is the middle east. Decades back it was Europe.

NO.
The reasons- Simple life forms that evolved on this uniqe planet some 1500 million years ago could only allow man to come to this arena only 2 million years ago and certainly he is and not the most strong among his co-genitors or the existing life forms or the ones that became extinct (c.f. dinosaurs..). It is the ingenuity of mind that seperated him from all odds and created a niche for him by way of selection and adaptation. This process is still on and would continue never ending as such there would never be a dooms day created by the man himself. The process of transformation of mass into energy and vice versa is a natural one and would go on as an endless pulley. Crisis would come and man would win over to find solutions. It is always the crisis that brings the solutions as innovations or you can call it improvisation. Yes the experience of destruction and havoc of world war -I and II is etched in our mind and it is fearsome to mankind. The potentialities of disasters through nuclear energy is known and the ways to protect the man from it must be evolving and would be out for use one day. The personalised nuclear threat would vanish and good sense would prevail through globalisation. Man is coming out of parachochial ego, though this process is very slow. It is all part of eveolution of mind and not of body per se and its is happening. The concept of bilateral discussions sharing of resources, elimination of developmental disparity etc. all are part of the quest of man to improve quality of life. I am optimist the dimension and meaning of war would change, the connotation is yes fearsome. The next war would not wipe out our progeny from this unique planet.

Just wait for Israel to bomb Iran. That it when you know WWIII has started. I believe it will most likely happen in 2007, definitely before Bush leaves office.

I believe that there will be another attack on either US, British, Australian, or New Zealand soil which will be blamed on Hezbollah the militant group that is based in Iran, but rather it would be a false flag operation (self inflicted wound blamed on an opposing political state). And it all goes down hill from there....

It's just a matter of semantics. Not the whole world calls WWI and WW2 by the same names. Remember there have been great wars for thousands of years that have involved multiple continents.

World war 3 won't be started by a bunch of religious radicals. World war three will be started when there is a shift beginning in who's the worlds super power.

Some say it is already going on, others say WWIII was the war between the Soviets and U.S. so this is WWIV (USSR is no longer in existence, lost 60 % of it's land mass, 70% of it's people, etc, sounds like a war to me). Maybe future "world wars" will be warmer than "The Cold War" but cooler that WWI and WWII?

You can also throw in North Korea. Not likely, but there were a lot of people not worried about (or who didn't know about) Hitler in the 30's. Is another nut(s) out there? Of course. Can he/she/they ignite another global war? Yet to be seen.

I think not, because there was a great chance at 2002 after sept 11th, and i think it was a great reason for a III W.W., but what you say about terrorism, has been present for many years. So i think something big has to come up...a hell of a good excuse, u know?
