What I concluded, while doing some research for my book, is that faith is always the wrong approach, and is in fact the ultimate evil. Faith is the belief in something without evidence, or in the face of contrary evidence, and is illogical. But the ability to use logic is the defining characteristic of our species, and to deliberately reject that ability makes one no better than an animal. Hence, all decisions must be made on the basis of evidence and logic, not faith.

Well I prayed to a bunch of different gods over my life, I went with the ones I actually got a response from. You have to pick which ever religion you feel the most connection with. I was attracted to my current religion because, for me, it's a better, more natural, more honorable way - I really wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than a return to the religion of my ancestors.
I don't believe that anything supernatural controls our destinies. I believe you create your own fate by your actions. I also don't believe in eternal life, I think I would go insane if I had to live forever. My religion doesn't have a "bible" per se, we have mythology though. Some pretty wild stuff. The myths are stories about the Gods and Goddesses of Asatru. They are ways of stating religious truths. That is, I would say they contain truths about the nature of divinity, our own nature, and the relationship between the two. I do not contend that the myths are literally true, as history, nor I accept them as infallible or inspired documents. Any religion which does this is deceiving its members about the purity and precision of the written word. The various competing factions of Middle Eastern religions are proof of this. Their conflicting interpretations can not all be correct!
There are two real sources of holy truth, and neither expresses itself to us in words. One is the universe around us, which is a manifestation of the underlying divine essence. The other is the universe within us, passed down from our ancestors as instinct, emotion, and innate predispositions. By combining these sources of internal and external wisdom with the literature left us by our ancestors, we arrive at religious truths. This living spiritual guidance is better than any dusty, dogmatic "holy book", whose writings are often so ambiguous that even clerical scholars disagree and whose interpretations change with the politics of the times.
Me, I'm an Ãsatrúar. :-)

I am a Christian!!!! I base my faith on the fact that when I became a Christian my WHOLE LIFE was changed. ANd I have seen MANY other people whose lives were completely changed when they got saved! It is the only religion that even can completely change your life because the other "religions" cannot be proven. There has NEVER been ANY archaelogical discovery that has not been proven or backed up by the Bible, EVER! I do NOT like calling Christianity a "religion" but the Way of Life! God has changed my life and the lives of MANY others and He wants to change yours too.(if He hasn't already) go to www.gotlife.org! And for further proof go to www.answersingenesis.com... Life is short. Pray HARD!

The Christian faith stands or falls on historical facts. If Jesus never lived, if the Bible is all lies, if Jesus did not resurrect, then the Christian faith is based on a lie and it all falls.
Hindus on the other hand have a holy book which is all fairy tales. For them that is not an issue.
Islam is based upon the trust of what one person, Mohammed, claims is the truth given him by an angel. For Mormans its the trust on what one person, Joseph Smith, claims is the truth given him by an angel. Both cannot be verified. Both have no miracles or anything that gives testimony to their claims.
Basically, our faith decisions are based upon what appears to be truth.

There are many many prophecies that have come to pass from the bible. Over 300 alone about Jesus. This is proof for many.
I have had many spiritual experiences and have had prayers answered that were without a doubt from Jesus.
There is much proof that shows the man Jesus was here, he had a following and many died for him. We he a liar? A nut? Or was he who he claimed to be.
Many have turned to christ who were educated Atheists. Lee Strobel has and he was an investigative reporter for the Chicago Tribune, Also C.S. Lewis and many more. What did they learn that turned their hardened hearts to say, There is a God! Seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be open if you are sincere.

Faith is believing that which you can not see. I believe one is called by a divine appointment with God to believe, yet one could choose not to. I have known God was with me since I was a young child. I have always talked with or prayed to Him. As an adult I felt God leading me to be baptized and join a church, at one point I felt lead to leave that church and join another one. I am and always will be a Christian, right now I attend a Baptist Church. Reading the Bible and being in a Bible study helps me to grow closer to God, to know Him better and to understand what He wants of me. After accepting Christ as my savior I also had the Holy Spirit to help me. A good nondenominational Bible Study is Bible Study Fellowship it is world wide!

Through the testament of the Holy Spirit, I understood that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
I believe that Jesus came to take the sin of the world. The gift you receive through grace by faith in Jesus Christ is eternal life.
I know, that I know, that I know, that He (Jesus) changed my life. I believe that He died for my sin. No one comes to the Father (God), except through the Son (Jesus).
I am a Christian who attends a Baptist Church building.

Many contend that REASON can only be acquired through Science.
But it is by FAITH that we believe when Science tells us that no two snowflakes --or human beings-- are alike.
Yet unlike what many are inclined to believe, Faith is not the opposite of Reason. It is, in fact, the fullness and blossoming of Reason.
Peace be with you.

I do not put my faith in religion! My faith is in Jesus Christ!
One chooses to serve either God or Satan. Those are the only two choices.
I choose Jesus because I realize what He has done for me, both in the natural and in the super natural!

Not on any one book or ancient text. What I believe is based on a LOT of soul-searching, spiritual as well as scientific study, and input from people I know and trust.
Isn't that how we're ALL supposed to base our faith (or lack of faith)?
