If it primarily for weight loss -- either is fine. However, jogging is excellent for your heart and you might lose weight faster doing it because you essentially using various parts of your body unlike the elliptical. Jogging you can also pace yourself much better and might find that you spend longer on the tredmill because you slow down and speed up more.

This depends on the level of exertion (for instance, is the treadmill set at an incline). In general, more of an aerobix exercise (like on the eliptical) is better for your heart and for weight loss. The treadmill is also aerobic, but you are cutting the time short. Some studies have proven that the good effects of exercise are cumulative, so 2 sessions of half hour each would be roughly equivalent to a one hour session of a similar exercise. To mix it up, maybe try a half hour on the eliptical and a half hour on the treadmill.

If you were to build a scale of what burns the most calories, jogging would be on top. Swimming comes in second or third. Both work most all of your muscles, that is why they burn so much calories. I would reccommend the running. But, if you get bored easily (which I do, since I'm staring at the wall when I run), and the eliptical feeds your attention better, I would go with that. Whatever is easier for you to do for a while, I would go with that.

The satisfactory recommendation I have ever heard for wasting weight is: "EAT LESS, MOVE MORE" As some distance as healthy eating plan plans pass, my sister and her husband have misplaced 20 kilos apiece by means of the next regulations: Fruit earlier than midday No Soda Lots of Veggies Don't consume carbs and protein within the identical meal (carbohydrates and proteins take exceptional enzymes to get a divorce, so should you best consume one or the opposite at a time, then your digestive tract can consciousness on digesting matters extra wholly) Even should you do exactly a few those, it will have to aid. Good good fortune!

Elliptical trainer is better in my eyes, because it's low/no impact. Jogging and running can really do a number on your joints! Better to do things as safely as possible. Why try to get healthy and cause yourself health issues in the process?

use the elliptical for an hour... and keep the intensity low. your heart rate needs to be between 94 and 120 bpm to most effectively burn fat, once your above 120 your just making your heart and circulation system stronger. Jogging on a treadmill definetly takes you above 120! (well it does for me anyway.)
