such as when you walk for a long time and get blisters on your feet.

The fluid inside the blister actually has healing properties. Notice, if you pop a blister and peel the skin off then that is very raw skin and when anything, even wind, hits it it will hurt. Now, if you leave the blister untouched for a day or two and then pop it, the skin underneath will feel a million times better. There are times when not popping a blister is unavoidable, such as, when it is too big and the pressure from it actually hurts or when it is on an area of your body that is a high friction area and it will pop on its own, such as your feet.

no, you should never pop a blister largely because it can lead to infections. your best bet it get ahold of some mole skin (they sell at wal mart) or the special band-aids made for blisters and use those until the blister heals
also make sure you change your socks regularly and keep your feet dry. (i found out the hard way that if you don't keep your feet dry and you're doing a lot of walking you'll get some really mean blisters on the bottoms of your feet making very painful to walk)

That's the way your body is healing. Don't pop it. It will eventually go away, and you'll heal quicker if you leave it alone.
