the other service basic training, but other services are required to go thru marine boot camp if they wish to change over to the marine corps, does this makes the marine corps the best branch of the service?

No, just the most disciplined, typically. No branch of the service is better than the other. We all just do different jobs, and we all do them well.

No, it simply makes Marine Corps basic training the hardest and most comprehensive. You can't pick out one branch as being the "best" because they all make up one military, and without one branch the military as a whole would suffer.

Right on, NCO! And let us not forget, different schools for different "trades" if you will. The Marines use both skills and equipment that are not equally spread among the branches.
