I think it would be the .577 T-rex gun...if it isn't then it would have to be a nitro.

The LAW is obsolete, The current system is the AT-4. The SMAW is more destructive, it's explosion is designed for demolishing buildings, while the AT-4 is designed for penetrating armor. Some versions of the German Panzerfaust 3 can penetrate thicker armor than the AT-4. The RPG-29 runs a close third

The TOW requires a tri-pod.
The Stinger has more range and accuracy but the AT-4 has a bigger warhead.

Outside of military only application H gets it with .50 BMG. Also the 4 guage shotgun for close range.

The most powerful should-fired weapon in the world? Since this is the 'hunting' category I expect you mean excluding bazookas, surface-to-air rocket launchers, rifle-grenades, etc. Then that leaves the .700 Nitro Express double-rifle (although I understand it is no longer being made), the .50 Caliber Browning rifle (which I understand some claim they can fire from the shoulder) and practically, the .338 Lapua which less intrepid souls can fire from the shoulder because that is how it is intended to be fired.

Excluding the military rocket launchers I would suspect the most powerful shoulder fired weapon was the old "punt gun"
These were shotguns with up to two inch bores and were used by commercial duck hunters during the early 1900's. They were about eight feet long, attached to the bow of a punt boat and fired into a flock of sitting duck or geese. They were way too long and heavy to fire off hand and did have to be mounted to the boat, but they were fired from the shoulder.

Probably the LAW missle system. It's a shoulder fired anti-tank missle. The marines were using them to take down building in Fallujah and other parts of Iraq when they didn't want to enter and clear the building, and i don't blame them. These LAW rockets were taking down mutiple story building by hitting the cornors.

If you are talking about the rifle type. Then the .50 BMG is the biggest.

If your question is rifles and not RPG's and Stingers and crap, the BATF lists the five most powerful rifles as

#1 .50 BMG @13,000 foot-pounds.
#2 .577 Tyrannosaur @ 9,900 foot-pounds.
#3 .475 A&M Magnum @ 9,200 foot-pounds.
#4 .700 Nitro Express @ 9,000 foot-pounds.
#5 .585 Nyati @ 8,500 foot-pounds.
