Financial aid and admissions are two different things and two different departments in the university. Typically major universities like NYU receive thousands of applications for each available slot. Each college or university has an endowment fund to give out scholarships for various students for different things. It also looks at having a diversified student population based on interests, school activities, special talents, goals, race or ethnicity, socioeconomic background, and geographic area of the country. In addition, the application, standardized testing, and letters of recommendation are important. Besides, overlooking filling out the FAFSA form could result in lessening the need for student loans which means more income to support yourself after graduating from NYU. Good luck!

That essentially has nothing to do with your admissions. They don't look at financial ability at all. It's all you, hun!
