The easiest way to figure it out is: 1+100, 2+99, 3+98...all the way until 49+51. They all add up to 101, and there are 50 of them in the number between 1-100, so it's 101x50=5,050.

5050. There's a shortcut. (n squared +n)/2. 100 squared is 10,000 plus 100 is 10,100, divided by 2 is 5050.
