And you are basing all this on the supposed fact that jealousy is a sin? Where in the bible does it say jealousy is a sin? Envy is. Not jealousy. It would only be proper to say that my husband would be jealous if I flirted with another man. Not only is it not a sin to be jealous, it would be totally acceptable in some situations.

Before you unjustly accuse Jehovah of anything, you need to get your facts straight.
The Hebrew words for “jealousy” occur over 80 times in the Hebrew Scriptures. Almost half of these references are to Jehovah God. “When applied to God,” explains G. H. Livingston, “the concept of jealousy does not carry the connotation of a warped emotion, but, rather, of an insistence on the singleness of worship of Jehovah.” (The Pentateuch in Its Cultural Environment) Thus, the New World Translation sometimes renders the Hebrew noun “insistence on exclusive devotion.” (Ezekiel 5:13) Other appropriate renderings are “ardor” or “zeal.”—Psalm 79:5; Isaiah 9:7.
3 Man was created with the capacity to feel jealous, but mankind’s fall into sin has resulted in a distortion of jealousy. Nevertheless, human jealousy can be a force for good. It can move a person to protect a loved one from bad influences. Moreover, humans can properly show jealousy for Jehovah and his worship. (1 Kings 19:10) To convey the correct understanding of such jealousy for Jehovah, the Hebrew noun may be translated “toleration of no rivalry” toward him.—2 Kings 10:16.

God is a Jealous God, but what He means by that is that He doesn't want anything else put before Him, Adam and Eve were the first sinners because they put their lust before God and therefore CREATED sin, and sin is what created other gods, because people found following God to be difficult and it was easier to just make up another God that never held you accountable for what you were doing, because it didn't exist! AND to answer your question, yes jealousy is a sin, BUT God never sinned. Sorry if this answer isn't clear, I may edit it tomorrow, but I need to ask my Bible teacher tomorrow and I get back to you on that. Life is short. Pray; HARD!

The commandment you must be speaking of is envy, which is similar to jealousy.
The jealousy of God is not to be confused with the jealousy of man. God is all powerful and does as he pleases. Before we were created, God decided to create mankind to worship him and bring glory to him. This is "the meaning of life" as so many people wonder about. We are given gifts and talents to succeed and standout, but so that God may gain the glory from what he has so graciously given us. So, in reality, this is a healthy sort of jealousy because God created it apart from a sinful world. It's kind of like there are healthy kinds of anger and unhealthy kinds. I hope this helps a little.

To be jealous of a loved one is not sin. I am jealous with the love of my wife and children. It means that I will place this love above all others including my work, and myself.
To be jealous of another goods or accomplishments is sin. Vastly different intentions. Love is to be jealously guarded.
Jesus again teaches us the appropriate use of jealousy.

Not only is God a sinner but he also admits that he has no control over his emotions as well as there are others like him because you cannot be jealous of anything less than yourself.... only what is equal to you or greater than you.

Protecting what is yours is not a sin, envy is a sin. We can jealously protect what is ours. and God does that with his people to protect them from themselves and turn them back to him.
