This is a totally idiotic question!! There is no dog with a "categorically" superior intelligence. Different breeds were bred to do different jobs and each breed is "superior" at doing it's job.

Border Collie, highly intelligent, very trainable dogs! When I'm playing footie with my 5 month old pup he doesn't look at the ball but looks at my legs to see which way I'm gonna kick it - clever pup!!!

Border Collie's are always trying to stay one step ahead of you and try to guess what you're gonna ask them to do next.

Ive heard that it's the Border Collie. There is one that knows 250 words. I had a German Shepard that knew 50 words.

Border collie every time - get a farm collie, they tend to be the smartest. But if you get a collie they tend to need working - obediance, agility etc, something to keep the mind active.
