It depends... If you like dogs that are big and that are smart, I would say a golden retriever. If you like small dogs to just carry around and play with, I'd go with a chihuahua or a daschund, but if you like a dog as a companion, it depends on what you like. I have a mix of a poodle and a maltese, and it's so cute. I also have a collie mixed with a german sheperd, see I love dogs that are with mixes, so just pick a dog that you think would suit in as your best friend or a very good companion :) :) :)

It depends on what you are looking for.

I prefer a Pomeranian, Yorkie, toy poodle or papillon for a lap dog, a Rottweiler, Doberman or German Shepherd for personal protection, a St Bernard is most suited for a handicapped child's companion, Beagles for hunting small game or playing all day with the children and a Chihuahua is noted for aiding asthma sufferers.

it just depends on your lifestyle but my favorite breed is the rottweiler. I love the breed but hate how people think all rotts are mean. there really not. they are the most loving large dog breeds.

boxers or shih tzu , i raise both these breeds and they are very loving dogs , if you got small children its usually not good to choose a small breed because they could hurt it more easily

Great Dane also known as gentle giants. You do not need alot of space and they get along with everyone young and old and other animals too. Super sweet dogs.

Czech wolf dog. It's the only wolf to have around children.

Smart as a German Shepard but smaller.
