I am trying to create a movie using a computer program. I like the Microsoft Movie Maker format but I am willing to change! I also do not like auto-make movie programs. Any suggestions?

Well, Windows Movie Maker is a great perinstalled program but if you do want to change to something different i would suggest buying a program rather then downloading one off the internet, nost of them aren't much better the windows Movie Maker, and are much less user friendly. Hope this helps, Brodster

The best movie editing program out there is Sony Media Software's Vegas. It has been rated as the best editing software by Videomaker Magazine for at least two years (that's as long as I've been getting it.)
Try their website at www.sonymediasoftware.com

Hope this helps!

http://www.jahshaka.org/ is free and very powerful. But, like most powerful software, there's much more of a learning curve than with Windows Movie Maker. But those skills you will learn are invaluable.

There are TONS of video editing softwares out there. It depends on how good you are and how much money you have to purchase one.

A good list can be found on Wikipedia:

And a comparison of a few:

My personal list would consist of:
-Adobe Premiere Pro
-Pinnacle Studio
-Sony Vegas
-Ulead MediaStudio Pro

iMovie is a great program if you want an easy-to-use great program to work with. You can get it at apple.com. Windows movie maker is fine though if iMovie's not compatable.
