I have to shorten a song on a CD for my daughter's talent show. I have to alter the song in the middle (erasing part of the song). Does anyone know how to start burning the song, stop the burning process, then start it up again later in the song? It needs to flow like it was never stopped.

You can make a special edited version using the free but powerful http://audacity.sourceforge.net , then burn that onto disc. You can even add a fade-out to the end of the song to mask the fact that it's an edited version.

Use Audacity to edit the songs - chop off the top of the wide-unfold one and then paste the 2d at everywhere you % after that. this could create a sparkling track record that then you certainly burn to a CD.

your best bet is to chop the middle out using some audio editing software - goldwave or such. Have a look if there's any packages out there in freeware land OR try a month's trail on a buyable one.
