I have a 1 1/2 year old that has had an on-going cold that just wont seem to go away. He had a really nasty cough from post nasal drip that the vaporizer is helping but, he is very cranky and keeps grabbing his nose between his eyes. He also has think yellow/green snot, and breathe that smells like something dies in his mouth. he has never had a sinus infection so i have no idea if he just has a bad cold or something else.

It sounds like it to me.

I have two young ones, and your description fits the bill. I would take him to the doc. Sometimes, the cold can escalate into different things.

It happened with my youngest just last month. He was put on an antibiotic and it helped. Also try Tylenol cold and caugh. It decongested the mucus and he could actually sleep and breathe!!! Good luck!

If he's had this for more than a week, I'd suggest taking him to the doctor. You don't wanna fool around with the sinus'. They are too close to the brain. The membrane between the sinus and the brain is very thin. If he does have an infection, the doctor is the best person to diagnose that for you.
Hope he feels better soon.

Take it from a CHRONIC sufferer of Sinus Infections, this is one. You need to take your little one to the doctor and get them on Anti-biotics ASAP. Sinus infections can spread to the platelet and other areas and cause more problems. I have found that once the infection is healed if I use a Saline Mist everyday I get them a lot less often. Best of Luck! and hope your little one starts feeling better soon.

any snot that isnt clear isnt normal.the yellow and green says he has an infection...but the stink sounds kind of strange-are you sure he hasn't stuck something up his nose-my daughter did around that same age and it was back so far we couldnt tell until the stink set in-my guy thought I was crazy and it was her breath. When I took her to the DR- he pulled out a wedge of tissue paper compacted with weeks worth of buggers-it looked like a nasty worm...good luck and your kid needs antibiotics either way.Me and my girl were just sick and it took forever to kick it too.

Yeah, it's probably time to take him to the doctor. Just remember that babies and toddlers will be always sick....they have many, many strains of flu and cold that they will "catch", and eventually gain immunity, not counting all the childhood diseases. I wish you the best of luck.
