In the USA, if you have enough money you can sue anyone for anything!

Yes and if there were other people around yes you can even go to jail. There was a case in the news a while back where a man press obscenity charges against another man for using foul language around his son who was fishing with him the cussing man was near-by. You need to take into consideration that even thou you may have freedom of speech the person you may be cussing also has the freedom not to hear it. In many public places there are signs posted telling people not to use offensive language on the city bus just today I read a sign that said no cussing plain and simple.

It really depends on where you live and the circumstances. If the person percieved the cussing as a threat to their safety, then it may be possible, but generally it is not something that would hold up in court

DId you threaten them? Did they feel threatened while you were cussing? If the answer to these questions is yes, then they can charge you with assault. It does not mean you will be found guilty. They can still make a complaint.

Nothing serious, they may be able to bind a restricting order on you (You can't go within so ever many meters of them) But nothing serious at all can occur from cussing someone out. It's freedom of speech and they can't do anything about it. Racial or sexual slurs may be something to worry about because they can be seen as sexual/racial harrassment, but if you just dropped the F bomb, don't worry about it.

It really depends on the situation. If you were to swear and use the f word at work, it could be taken as sexual harassment, and people have gotten in trouble for that before. If you just swear at someone on the street or something, they can't really do anything about it.

it dependson the circumstances. and what you called them. if you stood on the courthouse steps and called the local high school principal a lieing thieving child molesting bastartd, chances are. unless you had the proof in your hands, you would be charged. but if you told your skanky neighbour over the back fence that she was a whore and should have her kids removed, no

technically, they could charge you with harrassment. it might not go very far. but they could. and depending on what was said, they could try to nail you with terroristic threatening. i know its silly.. i think there are a few other charges they could try to use, not sure how it would hold up in court though. had a girl threaten to do it to me once in highschool. lil bizitch had a cop for a daddy. hahaha. she thought she could act however she wanted and get everyone else in trouble for it...

You can sue somebody for anything. If it is just cussing I doubt anything will if it is taken to court... it'd be a waste of money anyways.

No, but if you cuss at a cop, yeah.

The someone could however, sue you for harassment and emotional distress.
